Job Summary & Departments
As a Production Associate, your day-to-day duties will depend on your experience, interests, and where you thrive. We have opportunities across multiple specialized departments, including:
Fabrication & Machining: Power press, kick press, and wire mesh shearing.
Assembly & Welding: Soldering, resistance welding, and torch/induction brazing.
Quality Assurance: Precision quality inspection using microscopes.
Support & Maintenance: Tool/die maintenance and wash room operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate power presses, manual kick presses, and wire mesh shear tables to fabricate parts.
Use resistance welders, soldering tools, and torch/induction brazing to assemble precision components.
Measure production parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and go/no-go gages to ensure compliance with standards.
Inspect finished parts under a microscope for quality assurance.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production documentation.
Use a computer to scan jobs in/out, track workflow, and access digital job details.
Assist with tool and die maintenance using lathes, CNC machines, grinders, and drill presses as needed.
Package finished products for shipment and assist with material handling/inventory.
Follow all company safety procedures, machine safety inspections, and PPE requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, factory, or warehouse environment is preferred (but we are willing to train the right attitude!).
Education: High school diploma or GED; ability to pass a basic math and tape measure reading test.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand or sit for extended periods, and meet close-vision/peripheral vision requirements (clear focus at 20 inches or less).
Logistics: Reliable transportation and the ability to commute daily to our Kalkaska, MI facility.
Screening: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
