Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Lansing, Michigan 48912
• Healthcare Setting: Short Term Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit
• Assignment Length: 9 weeks (11/11/2025 – 1/13/2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,840 - $1,890
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Float Requirement: Float to all adult acute care units as needed
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Parking: Free with badge access to garage

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required by start date (compact licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or Telemetry RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by AHA required
• Telemetry experience and proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, Ventilator Management, Conscious Sedation
• Must be available for 2 of 3 major holidays (including day before and after)
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Monitor and manage patients with pre- and post-op cardiac catheterization, open heart procedures, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure (CHF), and vasoactive drips
• Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Float to other adult acute care units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, and Social Services
• Utilize EPIC for electronic documentation and charting
• Participate in rapid response/code teams as required
• Adhere to all hospital policies and compliance requirements
