Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
- Location: Lansing, Michigan 48912
- Healthcare Setting: Short Term Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit
- Assignment Length: 9 weeks (11/11/2025 – 1/13/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,840 - $1,890
- Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
- Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
- Float Requirement: Float to all adult acute care units as needed
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Parking: Free with badge access to garage
- Active Michigan RN license required by start date (compact licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or Telemetry RN experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by AHA required
- Telemetry experience and proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, Ventilator Management, Conscious Sedation
- Must be available for 2 of 3 major holidays (including day before and after)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit
- Monitor and manage patients with pre- and post-op cardiac catheterization, open heart procedures, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure (CHF), and vasoactive drips
- Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Float to other adult acute care units as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, and Social Services
- Utilize EPIC for electronic documentation and charting
- Participate in rapid response/code teams as required
- Adhere to all hospital policies and compliance requirements
