3-5 Must Haves (need to be highlighted in sizzle & present on resume)

• 5 years+ of C#.Net, SQL, RESTful API development experience
• Strong MS Azure experience (Function Apps, Cosmos Db, Durable Function Apps, Logic Apps)
• Experience with Kafka (or another messaging/ eventing system)
• Must have experience building Azure cloud native applications with a focus on backend services

I connected with the HM for this role this morning and she has received the approval to backfill our consultant that recently resigned. She is looking for a C#/Azure backend developer to add to the team.

The C#/ Azure developers will join an existing team of developers who are focused on backend development. The team is made up of Developers, a TPO, and ScrumMaster). This team is focused both on the ecommerce services within their loyalty application as well as the backend of their Meijer.com web site.

They are requiring candidates who are located in their 6 state footprint and have a strong preference for people who are already living in their 6 states (not very comfortable with relocation candidates).

A big key for this role is finding developers who are independently motivated and consultative. They would like people who can come with ideas but are also willing to move forward in the direction that the team chooses to pursue. This team also needs people who don’t need extremely well-defined requirements. If we have candidates who are accustomed to having very well-defined requirements and then just cranking out code, they won’t fit with this team.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Software Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in .NET and C#, and a strong understanding of cloud-native architecture principles.

This role is part of a Microsoft-centric development environment and requires proficiency in Azure services such as Function Apps, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, Confluent Kafka. ****Temporal experience is preferred. The candidate will be responsible for building backend services and APIs that support enterprise-grade applications, including e-commerce and payment platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using .NET and C# within Microsoft Azure.

Build and optimize Azure Function Apps and integrations with Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, and Kafka.

Follow the company’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) to code, configure, test, debug, and document applications.

Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and contribute to solution architecture.

Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and maintainability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment with enterprise standards.

Develop and maintain operational and system-level documentation.

Work within the SAFe Agile framework and apply CI/CD best practices using tools such as Azure DevOps.

Write and maintain comprehensive unit test cases to ensure code quality and reliability.

Support and enhance e-commerce solutions, particularly those related to payment methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience in backend service development for payment processing or government assistance programs.

Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and Azure infrastructure.

Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.

Temporal or similar technology

Familiarity with tools such as Postman, Swagger, Git, and Azure DevOps.

SAFe Agile certification or equivalent experience is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguous requirements.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
