Inspection Technician | Charlotte, MI

Salary Range: $41,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products against specifications and blueprints.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems, including identifying and reporting non-conformances.
• Identify and quarantine defective materials or products, collaborating with production to resolve quality issues.
• Verify product compliance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and perform basic calibration checks on inspection equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy.
• Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality defects and support corrective action implementation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
• Demonstrated experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards and inspection methodologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, report generation, and using inspection software.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or other advanced metrology equipment.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and software.
• Basic understanding of CAD software for reviewing part designs and specifications.
• Prior experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical devices, aerospace).
