ER Nurse Job Details

• Location: Lansing, MI 48912 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Facility: Emergency Room, Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, Pediatric Emergency Department
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Contract Length: 20 weeks (September 2, 2025 – January 6, 2026)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) per 4-week schedule
• Floating: Possible to Pediatric Emergency Department
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890-$1940

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required by start date (compact licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent ER nursing experience in a Level I Trauma Center (2 years preferred)
• Current certifications: ACLS (AHA preferred), BLS (AHA preferred), PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience
• Proof of high school education (required for all allied healthcare candidates)
• Ability to manage high patient ratios (1:5-6, up to 1:8 during peak times)
• Willingness to float to Pediatric Emergency Department as needed
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays (including day before and after)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; perform advanced cardiac life support
• Administer blood products, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Perform triage, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Care for trauma, neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, and stroke patients
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
• Complete required module education prior to start
