The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain critical IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage, ensuring high availability for 24/7 manufacturing operations.
• Administer and support manufacturing-specific applications such as MES, ERP, SCADA, and PLM systems.
• Implement and monitor robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans for all production-critical data and systems.
• Ensure the security and integrity of IT and OT (Operational Technology) networks and systems, protecting against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues affecting factory floor productivity.
• Perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, and patching to optimize performance and security of IT assets.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate new technologies and improve automation systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V) and storage area networks (SAN/NAS).
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
• Familiarity with IT support for manufacturing systems (MES, SCADA, PLCs) and their network integration.
• Proven experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices relevant to industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), SCADA, or Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP).
• Understanding of IT/OT convergence and cybersecurity principles in an industrial environment.
• Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 27001) relevant to manufacturing.
• Exposure to IoT platforms or Industry 4.0 technologies in a production setting.
