Material Handling Field Service Specialist
A day in this role
Morning starts with a work order and a route to a warehouse in the Midwest. You arrive on-site, walk the line with the customer, and dive into diagnostics on forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, or automated systems. You isolate faults, repair what’s needed, document the work, and confirm uptime targets before moving on to the next call. About half the time, you’ll be on the road supporting customers across the region, occasionally with an overnight stay.
What you’ll handle
- On-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for a broad range of material handling equipment .
- Scheduled preventive maintenance to keep fleets and systems running reliably.
- Installation or assistance with installation of new equipment.
- Accurate, timely service reports, documentation, and logs.
- Clear communication with customers about work performed, timelines, and technical issues.
- Strict adherence to safety standards and company policies while on-site.
- Collaboration with in-house technical support and parts teams to resolve issues quickly.
Where you’ll travel
Approximately 50% travel across the Midwest region to support on-site service needs; overnight stays may be required.
What you bring
- High school diploma or GED; technical school training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience with mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems (material handling experience is a plus).
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouses, distribution centers, and similar environments.
