Physician - Medical Genetics, Corewell Health, Grand Rapids, MI (0.5FTE Part Time)

The Medical Genetics Program at Corewell Health West/Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time board eligible/board certified Medical Geneticist physician to join our growing program. The program offers an exciting opportunity for the physician to play an important role in the continued growth within this program.

This provider will be responsible, along with a multi-disciplinary team, for care of pediatric and adult patients with known or suspected complex genetic disorders and inherited conditions. The physician will be quality and safety driven in their care of the acute inpatient and outpatient population and includes an academic appointment through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. We partner closely with state-of-the-art clinical facilities, including our Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and Level I Trauma Center/Pediatric Emergency Department.

Practice Description:

The physicians are members of The Corewell Health Medical Group, a growing, physician-led, multispecialty practice. The Division of Genetics & Genomics includes a collaborative team of physicians, dietitians, genetic counselors, genetic counseling assistants, nurses, and other support staff. It includes highly specialized sections, including Medical Genetics, Biochemical Genetics, and Cancer Genetics, and lends genetic expertise to prenatal care and multiple subspecialty practices across the health system. The group is dedicated to supporting the mission of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital including education, clinical services, research and other scholarly activity, and advocacy.

Qualifications:

• Board eligible or board certified in Medical Genetics

• Physician License (MD)/Osteopathic Physician (DO)

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
