Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize tooling, jigs, fixtures, and molds for manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related production issues and failures to minimize downtime.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and modification of existing tooling to ensure operational readiness.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance, lifespan, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Manage tooling procurement, vendor selection, and performance monitoring.
• Conduct tooling trials, validations, and first article inspections for new product introductions and process changes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3-5 years of experience in tooling design, development, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Mastercam)
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, machining, or casting
• Demonstrated experience in tool try-out, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Knowledge of material science, including tool steels, plastics, and composites

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for design validation and optimization.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.
• Familiarity with advanced metrology techniques and equipment (e.g., CMM, laser scanning).
