IATF Quality Engineer | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $118,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer specific requirements (CSRs).
• Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
• Drive problem-solving initiatives using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) for internal and external non-conformances.
• Conduct internal audits and participate in supplier audits to verify quality system effectiveness and compliance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Control Plans, PFMEAs, and other quality documentation.
• Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA) to monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Deep understanding and practical application of IATF 16949 standards.
• Proficiency in core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Proven experience in root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive actions (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
• Strong analytical skills for quality data interpretation and statistical process control.
• Experience conducting internal and external quality audits, including supplier quality management.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
• VDA 6.3 Process Auditor certification
• Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab)
• Experience with specific OEM customer quality systems (e.g., Ford Q1, GM BIQS, VW Formel Q)
