Job Description:

The Production Director leads the Production Team and manages content (original or acquired) for worship services and special events at Rives Church, supporting an environment where attendees can deepen their knowledge of Scripture and their relationship with God. The key skills essential for success in this role include leadership, administrative ability, and creativity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ministry Oversight

• Provide leadership by staying current with church and cultural trends, along with improving the use of all forms of media.

• Oversee graphics, lights, sound, photography, and video production during Sunday service,

special events, conferences, and any other functions as needed.

• Prepare background slides for worship songs and announcements; work with the appropriate volunteers as needed to produce slides and graphics.

• Provide supervision to volunteer teams in creating videos for weekend services, special events, conferences, concerts, and productions; produce announcements, promotions, commercials, and testimonials as needed

• Communicate, create, and arrange for recordings with Pastoral staff and other appropriate

teams and/or individuals. (React videos, Testimony videos, Announcement videos, etc)

• Manage technical assets, including:

- Keep equipment updated and in optimal operating condition.

- Keep the studio and presentation area clean.

- Maintain an accurate equipment inventory.

- Work with sound and media personnel on any technical or equipment needs.

Weekly Expectations

• Record, edit, and post sermons and sermon clips

• Record, edit, and post video announcements

• Edit and post social media shorts

• Update electronic announcements, including making graphics for slides and upcoming events

• Prepare graphics for Sunday (song lyrics, sermon notes, etc)

• Participate in and contribute to weekly team meetings

Volunteer Development

• Work to build and maintain highly functioning volunteers involved with the development of

graphics, video, sound, and media.

• Ensure that all volunteers are trained, equipped, and empowered for service.

• Build rapport with team members to influence growth and creativity.

Other Responsibilities

The Production Director agrees to take on additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued development of the Production ministry at Rives Church. These responsibilities will likely be added according to the employee’s gifts, passions, and talents. They will be designed to address the growing and changing needs of the ministry team and may be added at the initiative and discretion of the Executive Pastor.

Relationships:

• Reports to and interacts most significantly with the Production Team and the Executive Pastor

• Works as a team member on the Production Team

• Supervises volunteers in graphics, lights, sound, photography, and video production.

• Helps recruit, schedule, and supervise adult and student volunteers in support roles

• Directly responsible to Executive Pastor under the guidance of the Elder board

Requirements:

• A growing committed follower of Jesus Christ. (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)

• Proficient in Mac, Premier Pro, Adobe, Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, Optisigns, etc

• Detail-oriented - Good editing, writing, punctuation, and proofreading skills are necessary.

• Experienced at recruiting, developing, and deploying volunteer teams

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Key spiritual gifts of leadership, creative worship, encouragement, and administration.

• Ability to fulfill the position's physical, mental, and emotional requirements and work within the necessary work environments.

• Flexibility in scheduled work hours based on special events and regular weekend services.

• Willingness to commit to partnership with Rives Church within the first 12 months of

employment.
