Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist
Suburban Wayne County law firm is seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist who would be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, with a particular emphasis on processing invoices, bills, as well as preparing cash applications, preparing bank deposits and reconciling appeals and adjustments. Candidate must be a skilled financial specialist who is able to process, track and record payments in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. Experience in the legal industry is a plus. Essential Functions of the job include:- Organize and maintain supplier contact information, payment terms and contracts.
- Input vendor invoices by checking the accuracy of data, matching purchase orders and receipts to documents, applying appropriate coding and proper approval.
- Execute credit card account reconciliation.
- Prepare and process check runs by ensuring all invoices are paid promptly and accurately.
- Pay suppliers online through designated sites.
- Ability to analyze, resolve discrepancies and reconcile monthly statements.
- Work within the accounts payable team to support cross functional training.
- Other related duties as assigned to assist Accounting Manager.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office or related programs.
- Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Experience:
- Accounting one year (required).
- Microsoft Excel one year (required).
