Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the shipping and receiving department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely processing of all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Train, mentor, and supervise shipping and receiving personnel, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to meet departmental goals.
• Verify incoming inventory against purchase orders and packing slips, identifying and resolving discrepancies or damages.
• Coordinate with production, inventory control, and transportation departments to schedule shipments and manage dock appointments.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and customs forms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by overseeing proper receiving, put-away, and storage procedures within the warehouse.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures within the shipping and receiving area to ensure a secure working environment.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move goods.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in a shipping and receiving environment, preferably in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to train and mentor team members on shipping and receiving procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• - Forklift certification and experience operating various types of forklifts
• - Basic understanding of inventory management software or ERP systems
• - Familiarity with hazardous material handling and shipping regulations
