Description

Manage Supplier orders and inventory, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods inventory to support Customer Build Schedules and Orders

Essential Functions:

  • Using customer EDI, build schedules, and supplier lead times; assure sufficient component inventory to support production plans. Goal is Zero Shortages and 100% On-Time Customer Delivery.
  • Simultaneously assure inventory levels are not excessive; not to exceed targeted maximum DOH.
  • Manage supplier orders, component inventory, and work-in-process inventory; timing, lot sizes, and min/max quantities (safety stock levels) to achieve optimal efficiency and cost.
  • Assure accurate inventory management via cycle counts and physical inventory counts. Avoid and eliminate excess inventory and obsolete inventory in a timely manner.
  • Actively engage Suppliers to resolve transportation or logistics problems that may cause delivery delays.
  • Work with the CSR and Scheduling team to promptly resolve any constraints and/or shortages that may result from sudden change in build schedules (customer orders).
  • Work with the Supplier Quality team to promptly resolve any supplier related quality issues that may affect build schedules.
  • When necessary, coordinate expedites to avoid production shortages and customer impact.
  • Manage supplier packaging (expendable or returnable containers) to assure it meets Hi-Lex requirements though the life of the program.
  • Maintain and execute a daily and weekly checklist of key job duties / activities.
  • Embrace and support Hi-Lex Production Policy; Safety first, followed by Quality, Productivity, and Cost.
  • Support 4S Excellence goals.
  • Support long term strategies to assure business competiveness and growth.

Secondary Functions:

  • Contact with Logistics/ Transportation Carriers as necessary.
  • Develop and mentor junior/ new Materials Planners.
  • Compliance with all Hi-Lex work related policies.

Qualifications

Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

  • Rockwell Automation, Plex ERP Systems specialist.
  • Two or Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management or Business, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Tier one or two supplier manufacturing production control position.
  • Knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement.

Physical Requirements I Working Conditions:

  • Factory environment with noise from manufacturing equipment.
  • Possible exposure to chemicals, moving equipment, electrical shock...
  • Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Clothing and shoes must comply with MIOSHA regulations and Hi-Lex dress code policy.
