Manager, Service and Purchasing
We are currently searching for a Manager, Service and Purchasing , for our customer, a leading supplier and installer of windows, exterior doors, and garage doors throughout Southeast Michigan. We are searching for someone with 10+ years of experience in windows and doors that wants to step into a management position with huge potential for future growth and opportunity. This is a high-profile position reporting directly to the President. Our customer will consider a relocation package for the right candidate.
Position Overview
As the Manager of Customer Service & Purchasing , you will unify two critical functions under your leadership to drive customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and strategic vendor management. Reporting to the President, you will spearhead the optimization of both departments to ensure seamless service delivery and procurement efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Lead and develop a high-performing customer service team (including service coordinators and technicians) to deliver responsive, knowledgeable support.
Oversee warranty claims, in-home consultations, technical support, and service issue resolution.
Design and implement KPIs to monitor response times, issue resolution rates, and overall customer satisfaction.
Advocate for customer needs across internal teams, enabling proactive solutions and improved retention.
Purchasing & Vendor Management
Manage procurement processes, vendor relationships, and supply chain operations for window and door products.
Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and lead times, balancing cost efficiency with quality and availability.
Collaborate with service and operations teams to forecast demand, anticipate inventory needs, and reduce supply delays.
Cross-functional Leadership
Align customer service and purchasing strategies to support company growth, margin goals, and delivery objectives.
Report to the President on operational metrics, vendor performance, and service outcomes.
Contribute to process improvements, technology adoption (e.g., CRM or procurement systems), and overall customer experience enhancement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
10+ years of experience in residential and commercial window and door industry, with demonstrated leadership in service and purchasing roles.
In-depth product knowledge across window, door, garage door, and screen lines.
Proven ability to manage professional teams, optimize procurement, and deliver results in a customer-focused environment.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a strategic mindset and operational acumen.
