Operator/Cell Technician

Job Title: Operator/Cell Technician
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00am – 4:00pm) with overtime as needed
Pay Rate: $17/hour

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Operator/Cell Technician to join our client in Shelby Township, MI. This role is responsible for monitoring molding presses, inspecting and packaging parts, and ensuring a clean and safe work area in compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor molding presses and related equipment.

• Perform visual inspections and final audits of plastic parts.

• Package and label products according to instructions.

• Maintain work cell cleanliness and follow 6S practices.

• Record scrap and production data using Real Time Screen.

• Perform equipment checks on all auxiliary systems.

Additional Lead Operator Duties (as assigned):

• Print labels and scan finished goods.

• Support the Client (Non-Conformance Report) process.

• Assist with first/last shot verification.

• Help with machine assignments and shift change communication.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe work environment.

• Basic computer skills.

• Strong math and reading skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, bend, and reach overhead.

• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs regularly.

• Ability to read computer screens and documentation (accommodations available if needed).

Working Conditions:

• Safety glasses required during certain tasks.

• Exposure to fumes, dust, and mist on the manufacturing floor.

• Primarily shop floor work with occasional office tasks.

• Minimal travel required. Valid driver's license preferred.
