Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited Classified 3 level position. Starting wage range: $15.87 - $17.92/hourly, depending upon experience. Working either individually or as part of a team, this role performs custodial tasks across campus to uphold high standards cleanliness, attractiveness, health, and safety. This position involves regular communication with supervisors and team members, reporting work status, and notifying the appropriate parties of any facility needs, such as repairs, supplies, or equipment. Adherence to safety standards and proper use of protective equipment is required at all times.

Individuals in this role are expected to represent the Department and LCCC in a professional manner. This position may require a flexible schedule, including support for special events or alternate shifts, including weekends. Principal Responsibilities and Results, KSA's ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - this position is non-exempt, i.e., is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA

This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative; other duties may be assigned). Provide custodial support by performing cleaning procedures in designated areas, including bathrooms, offices, hallways, floors, stairwells, service corridors, labs, classrooms, kitchens, study rooms, building exteriors, and trash collection. Maintain records by logging completed tasks regularly.

Manage custodial supplies by tracking inventory levels and notifying the supervisor when items are low or need replacement. Collaborate with other campus areas through assisting with event setups. Effectively communicate with team members, peers and managers via two-way radios, email, phone, and in person.

Support security and safety efforts by reporting safety concerns, such as damaged facilities, inoperable equipment, or maintenance needs to the supervisor, Campus Safety or appropriate department. Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Skills Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Active Listening - give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individual, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help people.

Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others. Abilities The ability to observe, analyze, and comprehend even the most minute aspects of a task or situation. The ability to effectively express your thoughts, ideas, and messages to diverse people in oral and written form.

The ability to manage both your own emotions and understand the emotions of people around you. Accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports, including records of materials, supplies, time, and work performed. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.

The ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, an employee must be able to: Comply with highly inflexible deadlines Adapt to a variable work schedule; including evenings and weekends as needed. Frequently move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities.

Engage in multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing and carrying of objects. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; a team lift technique is required for lifts exceeding 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to read and interpret building and shift schedules, directions for equipment, hazardous material labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical labels. Frequent and prolonged use/exposure to cleaning chemicals, exposure to dust, and potential exposure to bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens; Personal Protective Equipment and safety procedures must be utilized as required. Able to function in an environment with substantial latex and/or nitrile material exposure and without an allergic reaction.

Ability to effectively listen and perceive the nature of sounds and spoken words at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Education and Experience Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Highschool Diploma, GED, or equivalent of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been acquired. Preferred Qualifications: One year of custodial experience preferred. Notes If you are selected for the position, your appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
