Shipping/Receiving Clerk

We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk for a manufacturing company in Jackson, MI. This position is responsible for managing all shipping and receiving operations, overseeing the tool crib, and ensuring accurate inventory control.

Shipping/Receiving Clerk Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $20.00 / hour
• Full Time work available
• First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 02:30pm )

Receiving

• Manage receiving activities for all components and supplies.
• Verify materials match LAS Purchase Orders. •
• Receive parts in LAS software and issue to jobs as needed.
• Prepare goods receipts for all customer-supplied materials.
• Move items from receiving to proper storage locations.

Shipping

• Manage shipping for finished goods, spare parts, WIP to/from outside processing, and job part returns.
• Prepare packing lists, Bills of Lading, and customs paperwork.
• Assist with photos/videos of completed fixtures before shipping.
• Arrange pickups for components and outside processing shipments.
• Oversee LAS trucking activities.

Tool Crib

• Maintain secure, controlled access to the tool crib.
• Keep perpetual inventory of standard components.
• Perform cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
• Pull material per BOMs and kit/place on job shelves.

Purchasing

• Contact local vendors and place periodic purchase orders for shop supplies or raw materials.

Vehicle Maintenance

• Maintain LAS trucks and vans in clean, operational condition.
• Ensure vehicles are unloaded and trash-free after use.

Shipping/Receiving Clerk Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Strong work history
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures
• Forklift experience (preferred)

• Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
