Salary Range: $52,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Verify conformance of initial production samples to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform detailed dimensional inspections using precision measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Interpret and apply engineering blueprints, CAD models, and relevant quality standards.
• Generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated documentation.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances, collaborating with relevant departments for resolution.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections for cosmetic defects, material integrity, and proper part identification.
• Ensure all material certifications and traceability requirements are met according to specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency in operating and programming various metrology equipment, such as CMMs, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Proven experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) in a manufacturing environment, ideally familiar with AS9102 requirements.
• Excellent documentation skills with experience generating detailed FAI reports and non-conformance records.
• Solid understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and their application in manufacturing quality control.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., laser scanners, structured light systems).
• Proficiency in CAD software for model-based inspection and comparison.
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar professional certification.
• Background in quality engineering or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
