The Product Development Catalyst Applications Specialist has three main functions:

Perform applications testing for PIDC P&PD materials to better understand how materials perform in their application, to better understand how material synthesis impacts material performance, and to help develop better products

1. Use, maintain & build testing equipment including chemisorption units, flow reactors, and catalyst test rigs
2. Understand testing methods, develop and implement new tests, and understand material testing requirements for the various catalytic materials being developed in the P&PD lab.

Job Duties:

• Functional Testing: Oversee and prioritize testing of PIDC P&PD Materials in end use applications to determine probability of success in customer applications
  • Chemisorption units
  • Flow reactors
  • Catalyst test rigs
  • Various detectors for the above
• Design, construct, modify and maintain equipment (for both new and current applications)
• Data analysis: Interpreting the data to provide direct feedback to the PIDC P&PD group and/or customer
• Develop test methods for new applications to support the P&PD group
• Provide feedback and guidance for PIDC P&PD group

Requirements:

• 4-year college degree in a chemical or engineering field
• Testing experience preferred
