We are seeking a dedicated Design Engineer responsible for designing molds from start to finish, in collaboration with two other designers.

You will be tasked with creating basic and detailed part prints and designs for customers across a variety of industries. Occasionally, you may be required to design fixtures.

This role involves a balanced split between designing and quoting/estimating, dedicating 2-3 hours to estimating and quoting new tools or revisions on existing tools. With typically 100 quotes sent out weekly, you will wrap up job orders/designs and interface with internal teams and customers, requiring strong customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Design molds and create detailed part prints for various industries.

• Collaborate with other designers and interact with the shop floor.

• Engage in quoting and estimating new tools or revisions on existing tools.

• Interface with customers and internal teams to send job orders/designs.

• Develop mold flows and partake in quoting and estimating activities.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in designing plastic injection molds.

• Strong experience and understanding of quoting and estimating new tools or revisions.

• Experience within the injection molding industry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong understanding of mold design, injection molding processes, and tooling materials.

• Experience being customer interfacing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Exposure to Cimatron software.

• Experience with aluminum injection molding.

• Mold flow software experience with the ability to create and write mold flows.

• Engineering degree.

• Previous experience interfacing with customers.

Work hours:

• Monday to Friday, 6am to 4pm, providing a stable environment with exposure to diverse technologies and practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Centreville, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
