Job Title: School Psychologist (Full-Time, K12)
Location: Flint, Michigan (Commutable from Grand Blanc, Lansing & Detroit areas)
Contract Dates: August 19, 2025 June 12, 2026
Schedule: 35 hours/week | Monday Friday
Service Population: K12 | Approx. 60-Student Caseload
Disabilities Served: Mild to Moderate
We are seeking a mission-driven and compassionate School Psychologist to join a vibrant K12 educational team in Flint, Michigan for the 20252026 academic year. This is a full-time, in-person position dedicated to conducting evaluations, supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities , and providing expert consultation to staff and families across multiple school buildings.
Ideal candidates will bring both technical expertise and a deep cultural understanding of the challenges facing urban youth. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact through data-driven assessments, thoughtful collaboration, and a student-centered mindset grounded in equity and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education under MARSE and IDEA guidelines
Write detailed, legally compliant reports and communicate findings clearly to families and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in IEP and Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings as an expert on learning, behavior, and emotional development
Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop effective, individualized supports and interventions
Assist in the development of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) , academic accommodations, and classroom strategies
Provide consultation on mental health and trauma-informed practices relevant to students in urban educational settings
Support school-wide RTI/MTSS initiatives and help identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports
Serve as a critical thought partner in addressing the social-emotional, academic, and systemic needs of students and families living in under-resourced communities
Valid Michigan School Psychologist certification and license (must be active at time of application)
Strong knowledge of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and federal IDEA regulations
Demonstrated experience conducting K12 evaluations for a range of mild to moderate disabilities, including SLD, OHI, Autism, and Emotional Impairment
Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings in family-friendly language
Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 60 evaluations over the course of the school year across multiple buildings
Reliable transportation and flexibility to serve various K12 campuses in the Flint area
Candidates may be asked during the interview to:
Reflect on the unique challenges faced by urban children and families , and describe community-based resources or culturally responsive strategies they would use to support them
Demonstrate their understanding of MARSE and related IDEA regulations , particularly how they guide eligibility decisions and service recommendations in Michigan schools
