Graphic Designer

Eden Foods – Clinton, Michigan (Lenawee County) seeks a full-time Graphic Designer in its Marketing Department at headquarters. Dependable, competent, creative, and a team player. Natural food and business experience are helpful.

Focus Overview

• Create images and copy, as part of a team, that convey the nature, substance, uses, and benefits of Eden foods.
• Suitable design – illustration, animation, photo, video, and images –developed using company hardware, software, tools, and vendors to communicate effective facts and ideas in a form that dovetails with Eden Foods’ principles and goals.

• Teamwork in the context of the Marketing Department’s relationships with all of the Departments and functions of the company, as well as with Marketing staff and their suppliers.

Duties & Responsibilities

A) Conceptualization and Design: Develop visual concepts, layouts, and designs for various media, including packaging, print, digital, email, photo, and web.

B) Software Proficiency: Utilize design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Dimensions, Procreate, After Effects, and Dreamweaver) to create and manipulate images, graphics, and layouts.

C) Willingness to participate in continuous improvement.

D) Teamwork & Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing staff and other Departments to meet requirements, create ideas and concepts, and develop cohesive and effective designs.

E) Layout and Typography: Select appropriate fonts, colors, and layouts to create visually appealing and effective designs following consumer focus, Eden Foods style, and Eden Foods consumer preferences.

F) Image creation, editing, and illustration. Edit and arrange images, photos, and other visuals. Edit and proof copy. Illustrate and edit to create effective communications.

G) Help maintain and reinforce brand identity through design choices, copy, and messages.

H) Manage multiple tasks concurrently. Meet deadlines and organize resources for efficient utilization.

I) Contribute to a pleasant, efficient, & productive environment.

Job Requirements

A) BS/BA or equivalent achievement of skill in graphic design, communication methods, the arts, or a related field.

B) Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition.

C) Willingness to learn about food and business to further Marketing goals through effective communications.

D) Expertise in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite. HTML and Email software are a plus.

E) A graphic sensibility consistent with Department messaging.

F) Effective communication and language skills. Visual, written, and verbal skills are essential for conveying facts and knowledge.

G) Reliably accurate attention to detail.

H) Reliable follow-through.

I) Ability to identify and solve problems and challenges.

J) Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
