IATF Quality Engineer | Zeeland, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead internal IATF 16949 system, process, and product audits.
• Facilitate and ensure effective implementation of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys).
• Monitor key quality metrics, analyze data, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions in compliance with IATF 16949 requirements.
• Serve as a primary contact for customer quality concerns, managing resolution and communication of quality issues.
• Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality standards, tools, and best practices.

Recommended Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 standard requirements.
• Proficiency in AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
• Demonstrated experience with automotive problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
• Experience conducting internal and/or supplier quality system audits (e.g., IATF 16949, VDA 6.3).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control techniques, and metrology.

Bonus Qualifications

• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and implementation.
