Job Title: B6 - Engine Builder I Location: Livonia, MI Zip Code: 48150 Duration: 6 Months Pay Rate: Upto $24.93/hr. DOE Keyword's: #Livoniajobs; #Builderjobs. Start Date: Immediate Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble and build any type of engine, following industry standard assembly techniques.
- Measure components to close tolerances.
- Set and verify part clearances.
- Use measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- Use of required hand tools.
- Engine build record keeping with component history data.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of engine build or mechanic experience.
- Associate degree or post high school education in an automotive related field.
- Experience with powertrain calibration diagnostics and controls.
- Ability to operate typical shop equipment (hoists, jacks, hand tools, etc.).
- Ability to diagnose engine mechanical issues.
- Must have basic computer skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Must be flexible and eager to learn.
- Must pay strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete engine teardown/build skills and able to follow 543 charts.
- Able to perform simple fabrications.
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends.
