Advanced Manufacturing Process and Quality Engineer
Job Description
Job Description
Shape World-Class Manufacturing at NN Inc.
Step onto the production floor at NN Inc., a leader in high-performance precision components, and you’ll immediately feel the pace and purpose. Your day begins with a quick walk-through of a machining cell, checking process capability and updating standardized work. Mid-morning, you’re in an APQP huddle, guiding a cross-functional team with the Project Launch Guide and the Autocam Production System (APS). After lunch, you fine-tune tooling for a new product launch, draft crystal-clear work instructions, and validate cost standards. You wrap the day by coaching operators on SPC and document interpretation, reviewing GD&T on a complex drawing, and closing out a capex support task for upcoming equipment installation—all while keeping QMS and EMS compliance front and center.
How You’ll Contribute- Develop and standardize procedures and documentation that deliver consistent quality at the lowest practical cost.
- Support capital equipment planning, justification, installation, and ramp-up with sound technical input.
- Design and optimize processes and tooling for current production and new product introductions.
- Lead APQP teams and continuous improvement using the Project Launch Guide and the Autocam Production System (APS).
- Create and maintain accurate process documentation, work instructions, and cost standards.
- Generate precise quotes for new parts and refresh existing customer quotations.
- Train operators on machine operations, SPC, process improvement methods, and reading/using documentation.
- Interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T to establish robust tolerancing strategies.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.
- BS in Engineering or equivalent technical training plus 2+ years of related experience.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Fluency in technical documentation, cost estimation, and manufacturing software systems.
- Ability to read complex technical documents and communicate clearly at all organizational levels.
- Hands-on experience with APQP, GD&T, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Flexible schedule, averaging about 50 hours per week.
- Comfort working in both office and manufacturing areas, with typical exposure to noise and oil.
- Capability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks requiring both close and distance vision.
- Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
- Clear pathways for growth and advancement.
- Collaborative, innovation-driven culture.
- Opportunities to work on cutting-edge manufacturing initiatives.
- Focus on economic, environmental, and social impact.
- Safe work environment.
- 100% paid, up-front educational assistance.
- 11 paid holidays.
- Personal hours and vacation time.
- 401 match program.
- Onsite gym.
If you’re excited to elevate your career and help define what’s next in precision manufacturing, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and make an immediate impact.
