Nights Supervisor/Quality Auditor

Position Summary

The Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production activities during the night shift to ensure the safe, efficient, and high

quality manufacture of automotive components. This role provides leadership to production teams, coordinates workflow, resolves issues, and plays an active role in quality assurance by performing routine quality audits to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Leadership & Production Oversight

  • Supervise, lead, and support production team members on the night shift.

  • Coordinate daily workflow to meet production targets, schedules, and KPIs.

  • Ensure proper staffing and allocate resources to maintain continuous operations.

  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance on repairs or downtime.

  • Enforce safety standards, conduct pre

    shift safety reviews, and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Quality Assurance & Auditing

  • Conduct routine quality audits on production lines, finished goods, and in

    process components.

  • Verify compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and control plans.

  • Document findings, identify non-conformances, and follow up with corrective and preventive actions.

  • Partner with Quality Engineering and Production teams to investigate quality issues.

  • Support root-cause analysis and implement quality improvements on the production floor.

Team Development & Communication

  • Train, coach, and mentor team members on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety practices, and quality requirements.

  • Conduct daily shift

    start meetings and maintain clear communication between shifts.

  • Complete performance evaluations and participate in hiring decisions as needed.

Reporting & Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate shift logs, production reports, scrap tracking, and audit documentation.

  • Report key performance metrics (production volume, scrap rates, downtime, etc.) to leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, HR procedures, and attendance standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing (automotive industry preferred).

  • 1+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or lead operator role.

  • Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO/TS standards.

  • Strong understanding of production processes, safety practices, and lean manufacturing principles.

  • Ability to read technical documents (blueprints, control plans, process sheets).

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem

    solving skills.
