Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize new tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and modification of existing production tooling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues impacting production efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets specifications.
• Specify and select appropriate tooling materials, coatings, and manufacturing methods.
• Manage tooling projects from concept through production launch, adhering to budgets and timelines.
• Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective actions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience in the design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing tooling.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for tooling design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining).
• Knowledge of tool materials, heat treatment, and surface finishes.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and optimize tooling performance.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for tool design validation and optimization.
• Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies to tooling processes.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for rapid tooling or fixture design.
• Knowledge of advanced materials (e.g., composites, high-performance alloys) and their application in tooling.
