Commercial Snow Plow Operator – Great Outdoors

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour
Location: Washtenaw County

Welcome to the Great Outdoors! We are seeking experienced Commercial Snow Plow Operators to join our winter operations team. This role is essential in providing reliable and high-quality snow and ice management services for our commercial clients throughout Washtenaw County. Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a snow plow truck to clear commercial parking lots, roadways, and access lanes.

• Transport equipment using trucks and trailers as needed.

• Apply bulk salt and de-icing materials according to site requirements.

• Assist with loading materials and prepping equipment before each event.

• Perform routine checks on plow equipment to ensure proper function (lights, hydraulics, blades, etc.).

• Maintain clean and organized equipment, reporting any repairs or issues immediately.

• Follow assigned routes using our electronic tracking and route management systems.

• Communicate with dispatch and managers during storm events for updates or adjustments.

• Provide support to sidewalk crews or additional plowing areas when required.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Driver’s License required; Chauffeur’s License preferred.

• Prior experience operating a commercial plow truck is required.

• Strong understanding of commercial snow plowing techniques, safety standards, and equipment operation.

• Reliable, flexible, and able to respond quickly to snow events (including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays).

• Ability to work outdoors in harsh winter weather conditions.

• Professional communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Proper winter gear (coat, boots, gloves, hat) required.
