Production Manager

Salary: $100,000-$115,000

Location: Flint, MI
Job Description: This is a hands-on leadership role within a machining environment. The successful candidate will oversee daily production, approve quality standards, and lead a team of approximately 20 employees. Strong machining experience, leadership ability, and solid knowledge of tooling/inserts are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Approve first-piece inspections and ensure parts meet print specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Support machinists with setups, changeovers, and production approvals
- Lead and manage shop-floor employees to ensure productivity, safety, and accountability
- Perform in-process and random inspections directly on the production floor
- Manage tooling and inserts, including selecting alternatives when needed
- Monitor tooling inventory, order tooling, and issue purchase orders to suppliers
- Coordinate daily production schedules and assign work to open machines
- Communicate production status and issues with ownership
Work Environment:
- Floor-based role with continuous shop visibility
- Daily interaction with employees and hands-on involvement in production
Job Requirements:
âââââ Must Have 1:10 years of blueprint reading
Must Have 2:5 years of experience in a Managerial position
Must Have 3:10 yearsâ experience Machining
Must Have 4:Proficient operating Computers
Must Have 5:Experience with Purchase ordering
Nice to Have:Experience with E2 Planning system (not required)
