Corporate Accountant
The company was founded in 2019 as a 100%-owned US sales subsidiary of the leading manufacturer of high-function zirconium compounds in Japan. Main business activities involve the sale of inorganic zirconium, cesium, and rare earth compounds in the North America market.
Main customers are manufacturers of automobile parts, catalysts and electronic components, fine ceramics, refractory, materials, brake materials, oxygen sensors and etc. Position Summary This position will oversee the company’s financial operations and reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with both U.S. GAAP and Japanese headquarters requirements. This is a hands-on role with no direct reports, ideal for a bilingual accounting professional comfortable managing both transactional and reporting tasks independently. You will work closely with Japan headquarters (using Stravis) and report directly to the company President in the U.S. Key Job Responsibilities- Oversee daily financial operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage monthly/quarterly closings, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Analyze performance vs. budget/forecast and report to DKK (headquarters).
- Develop annual business plans and update financial forecasts.
- Support external audits and J-SOX internal controls.
- Advise sales and procurement teams from a managerial accounting perspective.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the President.
- Bilingual in English and Japanese, with strong communication skills.
- Self-driven and well-organized, able to manage tasks independently.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial transaction processes.
- Strong analytical and data management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with SAP (S/4 HANA, Stravis) or similar financial systems.
- Familiarity with J-SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Other duties might be assigned by managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
Office environment. Overtime may be required to meet deadline of assigned tasks.
