Commerical Painter
Bay Logistics has immediate openings for experienced Commercial Industrial Painters to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings, and other surfaces, throughout our network of companies. We are looking for a self-starter who is willing and able to work throughout the state of Michigan at our various warehouses and terminals. The best fit for our position will be reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. Responsibilities Prepare worksites for required processes (e.g. dry wall patches, cover fixtures, sanding, removing old paint, etc.) Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. dry wall, concrete) Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools Apply varnish and other finishes Adhere to all health and safety precautions Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project Calculate the amount of materials and time required for said project Taping off areas as needed, removing fixtures if appropriate. Choosing and purchasing paint, brushes, and other supplies from vendors Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete Additional duties as assigned. Skills Willingness to travel and work required schedule Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.) Good basic math skills Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc. Be able to lift up to 80 lbs. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the State of Michigan Conscientious with great attention to detail and customer service Schedule Monday Thursday 10-hour shifts
