Preschool Lead Teacher (full-time) Cheyenne (WY)

Overview:

The Cheyenne Family YMCA is looking for creative, enthusiastic early childhood teachers and assistants to join our preschool programs. The ideal candidate radiates fun but balances that positive energy and playfulness with maturity, thoughtfulness and experience in actively engaging with youth in a safe, healthy manner.

Strong customer service skills and a positive work attitude are a must, as you will be a role model for our preschoolers. Our center provides a supportive work environment where all staff members feel valued and respected. We also provide extensive training and learning opportunities to allow teachers to advance in their early childhood career.

Salary range $12-15.50/hr based on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting and implementing the program curriculum to meet the needs of the children and the families in the program.
• Provides care to children ranging in the ages from 1-6 years old.
• Ensures a clean, safe and friendly environment for all participants.
• Develops positive relationships with children and parents, resulting in the development of friendships, Y advocates and volunteers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with children.
• Willingness to participate in courses and trainings focused on child development and early childhood education.
• Prefer CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
