Administrative Assistant to the Principal Location Haslett, MI :

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO PRINCIPAL May 30, 2025

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Previous secretarial experience.
• Model appropriate professional behavior.
• Demonstrated ability in typing skills, record keeping, filing, computer technology (including databases) and other general office skills.
• Competency in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, composition, and proof-reading.
• Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to show good judgment, courtesy, tact, dependability, and an even temperament.
• Capability of being self-directed and efficient.
• Ability to manage confidential material with discretion.
• Ability to collaborate and work with others.
• Willing and able to implement modern technologies as they become available.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Demonstrated strength in public relations and oral and written communication.
• Previous experience in school settings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Prepare principal's correspondence, including confidential information, letters, memos, curriculum reports, meeting agendas, etc.
• Maintain student records, including enrollment, student database and health records.
• Coordinate all aspects of the school office to meet the needs of students, parents, and staff, including telephone calls, parent/teacher conferences, payroll, student records and enrollment, report cards, dispensing of medication, etc.
• Perform all other duties as requested by the principal.

DAYS/HOURS : Monday - Friday - 40 hours per week, according to the school calendar.

LENGTH OF CONTRACT : 204 Days

SALARY/BENEFITS : According to Haslett Educational Secretaries Association Agreement
