3rd Shift Production Supervisor

Summary:

Supervises and coordinates activities of production employees in an injection molded plastics production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Is knowledgeable in all aspects of injection molding.
• Works in conjunction with production/scheduling to determine the work and set-up schedules for the immediate shift.
• Oversees machine operator assignments.
• Supervises operators, molding technicians and assembly.
• Co-supervises the maintenance technicians in conjunction with the maintenance supervisor, plant manager and the shipping and receiving clerk.
• Issues written and oral instructions and ensures compliance.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Ensures meeting of production and quality goals.
• Maintains harmony and discipline among workers and ensures that all human resource paperwork is turned in daily.
• Adjust errors and arbitrates complaints.
• Complete assigned corrective actions in a timely manner.
• Ability to obtain a Hilo license and hoist permit.
• Maintain 5S standards.
• Train shipping and receiving supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Ability to perform each essential job function. Ability to write shipping reports.

Education and Experience:

Minimum – High School Diploma / G.E.D. Preferred – Associate’s Degree from a two year college or technical school. Proven one year or more experience and/or training in supervisory capacity. National Career Readiness/Workkeys certificate preferred.

Language Skills:

Must be able to read, write, interpret and understand the English language. Ability to read and understand company policy handbook, work instructions and other communications. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Math Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.

Physical Demands:

Close vision with or without corrective lenses. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position is required to regularly stand, sit, walk and use all four limbs.

System/Computer Requirements:

Know the quality and environmental policies. Adhere to procedures and work instructions. Know where relevant system documentation is located. Practice continuous improvement. Literate in Microsoft Windows environment including Microsoft Word. Experience with an ERP environment and use Eng 1.
