Incoming Inspection Technician | Norton Shores, MI

Salary Range: $46,000 - $69,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials and components.
• Verify received materials against purchase orders, blueprints, and quality specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.
• Document inspection results accurately in the quality management system.
• Initiate and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials.
• Maintain organized records of all incoming inspection activities and material traceability.
• Segregate and label accepted and rejected materials according to established procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Foundational understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with quality control principles, sampling plans, and non-conformance procedures.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, record keeping, and report generation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with an ERP/MRP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, molding, electronics assembly)
• Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles
• Ability to interpret and apply advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
