Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Delta Township that are seeking Tool Makers. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment.
• Interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools to ensure accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling to optimize production efficiency and quality.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling to extend lifespan and prevent breakdowns.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop new tools and improve existing ones.

Recommended Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship program or 5+ years of equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up a variety of manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs).
• Advanced ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T specifications.
• Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMMs) to achieve tight tolerances.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties for various tooling applications.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Experience operating and programming CMM equipment
• Knowledge of advanced heat treatment processes for tool steels
• Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) or Wire EDM
