Field Service Technician | Wyoming, MI

Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the field.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
• Document service activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and promptly using company systems.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies during all field operations.
• Manage service parts inventory and specialized tooling required for field assignments.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing industrial control systems, including PLCs.
• 3+ years of experience in field service or maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.
• Associate's degree or technical certification in a relevant engineering discipline.

Bonus Qualifications

• Multilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, German)
• Experience with advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., thermal imaging, vibration analysis)
• Basic welding or fabrication skills for minor on-site repairs
• Proficiency in CAD software for reviewing schematics and layouts
• Certifications in specific manufacturing methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
