Quality Lab Technician
Ada, MI
Full-Time | 1st Shift (8am-5pm Monday-Friday)
Pay: $22/hr
Position Summary
The Quality Lab Technician performs laboratory testing, analysis, and documentation to ensure raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct chemical, physical, and/or microbiological tests depending on product line and lab assignment.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and lab equipment for testing and analysis.
- Accurately document test results, data entries, and deviations in laboratory information systems (LIMS) or quality databases.
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Identify out-of-spec results and promptly communicate findings to Quality and Production teams.
- Support investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to quality issues.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines (FDA, ISO, OSHA).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
- Assist with audits, validations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field preferred (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
- Previous laboratory, quality, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP, quality systems, or laboratory procedures a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to follow written procedures and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills; experience with LIMS or ERP systems preferred.
