Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs (G-code) for 3-axis and multi-axis milling machines using CAM software.
• Analyze engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for specific applications.
• Generate detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators.
• Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure collision avoidance, optimize cycle times, and validate part accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce scrap.
• Collaborate with design engineers, machinists, and quality control to refine part designs and manufacturing processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
• Strong understanding and ability to write/edit G-code and M-code.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC milling machines.
• Knowledge of cutting tool selection, workholding strategies, and various material properties.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis CNC programming.
• Proficiency in a second CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX CAM, HyperMILL).
• Familiarity with CMM programming or metrology software.
• Experience with post-processor development or G-code simulation.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
