Salary Range: $51,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Kentwood that are seeking Bookkeepers. Key Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor invoices and customer payments.
• Manage payroll processing, including timecard verification, tax calculations, and remittances.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts.
• Track and reconcile inventory valuations for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, preparing journal entries and financial reports.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns and other relevant government filings.
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including cost of goods sold and overhead expenses.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, with specific knowledge of inventory costing, COGS, and fixed assets.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).
• Demonstrated ability to perform month-end close processes, prepare financial statements, and manage general ledger accounts accurately.
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles, including inventory valuation, variance analysis, and job costing.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor).
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, Weighted Average).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on financial records.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
