Logistics & Quality Specialist

Job Summary
Maintains and coordinates the material deliveries from international suppliers to the organization’s local warehouses (importing of goods) and to the project yards located throughout service territories. Manages and monitors inventory tracking, optimization, cycle counting, and warranty support with quality control department. Collaborates with the warehouse third-party logistics (3PL) provider and business unit warehousing leads on their overall effectiveness and performance around safety, cost, delivery, and quality. Span of control: 0; This is an individual contributor job.
Key Accountabilities
- Controls inventory levels, on-time delivery of raw materials & finished goods, and the procurement, receipt, and storage of raw materials.
- Builds and maintains the master production schedule by utilizing input from sales forecasts, customer demand, material availability and equipment capacity.
- Reviews, identifies, and minimizes obsolete inventory.
- Monitors and evaluates customer schedules, supplier schedules, logistic routes, and shipping attainment.
- Assists in the preparation of departmental budgets and strategic initiatives.
- Procures purchased components, raw materials, tooling, and capital equipment from suppliers at the lowest total cost, considering of quality, delivery, and reliability of source.
- Participates in supplier quality resolution, including planning for replacement components, returning defective components and monitoring parts in NCM area for disposition.
- Solicits and analyzes quotes from suppliers for materials required to support operational needs.
- Maintains knowledge of national and international market conditions, sources of supply, procurement laws and regulations.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering or economics with six years of project management or supply chain management, or quality auditing experience OR
- Associate degree in supply chain, business, engineering or economics and eight years project management or supply chain management, or quality auditing experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent with ten years project management or supply chain management, or quality auditing experience
Other Qualifications
Preferred
Lean Six Sigma Certification (Black Belt, Green Belt, or Yellow Belt)
Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Standards and international trade compliance (INCO terms, tariffs, documentation)
Experience in supplier audits, performance management, and operations across supply chain, logistics, or project management
Strong supplier relationship management skills with proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships
High attention to detail for managing logistics, inventory, and documentation accurately
Familiarity with basic accounting principles to support cost control and financial accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint)
Skilled in data visualization and reporting using Power BI and ThinkCell
Advanced presentation design and delivery skills, including creating executive-level, data-driven slides and integrating content from Excel, Power BI, and other sources
Other Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create accurate reports, deliver presentations, and present complex results to senior and executive leadership
Proficient in relevant business software applications (Maximo, SAP, Microsoft Office Suite) with minimal guidance
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to identify key issues and recommend optimal solutions
Skilled in conducting effective meetings and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Highly organized with strong planning skills; able to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure under pressure
Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities; promotes an open exchange of ideas and continuous improvement
Ability to resolve resistance constructively and prevent recurring issues
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically and internationally
