Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (Contract 6-12 months then get directly hired by client)
Project Duration: 1+ years (Client will assign another project after)
Pay Rate: $60/hour
Job Description:
The Electrical Construction Manager leads electrical scope execution for retrofit and upgrade projects within active production environments. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering electrical construction activities safely, on schedule, and within budget, while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations. The position collaborates with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Manages day-to-day electrical construction activities for retrofit and production line upgrade projects, ensuring alignment with approved plans, specifications, and project goals.
Coordination: Coordinates with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and operations teams to sequence electrical work efficiently and minimize disruption to active production areas.
Schedule Management: Develops and tracks project schedules, identifies potential delays, and implements corrective actions to maintain timelines.
Budget Control: Monitors project costs, reviews change orders, and ensures spending stays within approved budgets, providing justification for any variances.
Safety Compliance: Enforces site safety standards and applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA and NFPA), ensuring all work is performed safely in operational industrial environments.
Quality Assurance: Ensures all electrical installations and upgrades meet contract specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes (e.g., NEC), addressing deficiencies promptly.
Stakeholder Communication: Provides regular progress updates to clients and internal teams, clearly communicating risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
Issue Resolution: Identifies and resolves field issues, including design conflicts and installation challenges, to avoid impact on schedule or cost.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintains accurate project records, including daily reports, inspections, and compliance documentation, supporting transparency and audit readiness.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Oversees contractor and vendor performance, ensuring adherence to scope, safety standards, and contractual obligations, and addresses performance concerns as needed.
Qualification Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in electrical construction management, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments involving retrofit or upgrade projects.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, and cross-functional teams across complex construction projects.
Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with applicable safety regulations and best practices for working in energized and operational industrial environments.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve issues under tight timelines.
