Job Title: Automotive Dealership Controller/ Office Manager
Location: Gladwin, Michigan
Job Type: Full-Time

We are a locally owned, independent automotive dealership with a strong reputation for honesty, customer service, and community involvement. As a smaller operation, our team is tight-knit, collaborative, and hands-on. We are looking for a dependable and experienced Controller who can take ownership of our financial operations and be a key partner to leadership.

Position Summary:
The Dealership Controller will manage all aspects of the dealership’s accounting and financial functions. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller environment, is comfortable wearing multiple hats, and enjoys working closely with ownership and department managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, bank reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger)
• Prepare monthly financial statements and dealer reports
• Manage cash flow, expenses, and budgeting
• Reconcile all schedules and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Process and submit payroll and related tax filings
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations
• Work directly with ownership on financial strategy and decision-making
• Coordinate with outside CPA for year-end and tax preparation
• Assist with HR-related administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of automotive dealership accounting experience preferred (but not required)
• Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred (but not required)
• Strong knowledge of dealership operations and financial statements
• Experience with dealership software (Dealertrack, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar)
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Comfortable in a smaller, fast-paced, hands-on environment

Compensation & Benefits:
