Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the physician to develop and implement a plan of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health.
- Provide bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders within ICU protocols.
- Delegate to and oversee Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, OB Care Associates, Surgical Service Assistants, Nursing Clerks, and Psychiatric Technicians as appropriate.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan and adjust as needed.
- Assume a leadership role by integrating evidence-based practice, coordinating nursing tasks, and participating in patient conferences.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the health care team; participate in discharge and transfer planning as needed.
- Mentor and precept new staff and students; function as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and assignments.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and utilization of hospital and community resources.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Michigan
- ICU experience: 2+ years (required)
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS (required)
- Comfortable floating to ED and Step-down areas (required)
- Certifications considered a plus: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN
- Travel experience: preferred
- Education: RN with current licensure in Michigan
- Ability to work in ICU and float to ED/Step-down as needed
- Neuro surgical and open-heart experience: preferred
