This opportunity is only open to current employees. The event support role is responsible for setting up, preparing and tear down of the event spaces for various functions, including meetings, conferences, and special events. This role ensures that all rooms are turned around efficiently and effectively. This role will work closely with the Event Support Staff will work closely with the Event Coordinators and other CPP team members.
Essential Job Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Room Setup and Teardown:- Arrange tables, chairs, and other furniture according to event specifications.
- Set up audio-visual equipment and other necessary materials.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of event spaces before and after each event. Maintenance and Inventory:
- Maintain an inventory of event supplies and equipment.
- Report any damages or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained.

To qualify for this position, you must be a current employee at the City of Grand Haven.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.- Ability to adapt to priority changes of workflow and requirements.
- Working knowledge and understanding of safety and health department standards. Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodations. For example, set up tables and chairs for events. Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Current Employee Disclaimer:
- This is an on call/as needed opportunity.
- There is no guarantee of hours in this role.
- Should you choose to pick up an offered shift of extra hours at CPP, you will be paid at the rate of the role at CPP.
- Should overtime be paid based on those hours under Michigan overtime rules, per Michigan payroll regulations, the overtime rate will be based on a weighted average between your regular rate of pay and the rate of pay for the CPP support role.
- This opportunity at CPP should NOT interfere with your regular duties or pose a conflict of interest in your regular role with the City of Grand Haven. You will not be able to pick up any additional hours at CPP if there is a conflict of interest.
- You should notify your manager or supervisor that you are submitting your name to be added to the list for additional hours at CPP.
- Once you submit your application, your application will be reviewed. If selected to move forward in the process, you will be invited for an interview.
