The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Coopersville that are seeking skilled Buyers. Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Place purchase orders and expedite deliveries to ensure on-time material availability for production.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage relationships, and resolve supply chain issues.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to forecast material needs and optimize inventory levels.
• Ensure all purchased materials and services comply with quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement and inventory management.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship development skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and understand manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record of cost savings, lead time reduction, and supply chain optimization.

Bonus Qualifications

• Ability to interpret technical drawings or blueprints
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA or Oracle
• Certification in negotiation or supply chain management
