There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of Work

Under direct general supervision of the registered nurse/provider and following hospital policy and procedure, provides nursing care to patients. Implements nursing care procedures, evaluates patient progress, and assists in modification of care plan as necessary. Provides teaching to patients and their families. While actual responsibilities and duties may vary depending upon the clinical area assigned, the following are typical duties that would be performed, under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse or provider.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate's Degree Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Successful completion of competency based orientation program
• LIC-License Practical Nursing (LPN) - State of Michigan required upon hire
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association, or ARC American Red Cross 90 days
