Position Description: WHERE PRECISION MEETS COMPLIANCEThis is not an entry-level role.We are seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist with a strong background in highly regulated inventory environments to join our cannabis retail operation. This role is ideal for someone who has managed controlled, audited, or compliance-heavy inventory and understands that accuracy, documentation, and accountability are non-negotiable.If you have experience in cannabis, pharmaceuticals, fine jewelry, medical supplies, or other tightly regulated goods, and you thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, we want to hear from you.What You’ll DoAs an Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for safeguarding the integrity of our inventory systems and ensuring full compliance with Michigan cannabis regulations. This role works closely with management, sales, and fulfillment teams and plays a critical role in daily operations.Maintain accurate, real-time inventory across all cannabis product categoriesConduct daily, weekly, and cycle audits to ensure alignment between physical counts and digital systemsManage product intake, verification, labeling, storage, and organizationTrack product movement and flag discrepancies immediatelyEnsure strict compliance with METRC and internal SOPsSupport sales and fulfillment teams with restocking and inventory flowPrepare inventory for transfers, reconciliations, and compliance reviewsCommunicate clearly with management regarding shortages, variances, or risk areasMaintain organized, audit-ready inventory areas at all timesRequired Experience & QualificationsRequired1+ years of inventory management experience in a regulated environmentDemonstrated experience working with controlled or high-value goodsStrong understanding of inventory audits, reconciliation, and documentationProven ability to work accurately under pressure and time constraintsComfortable working in a high-volume retail environmentMust be 21+ and able to pass required background checksStrongly PreferredCannabis retail or cultivation inventory experienceExperience with METRC or other seed-to-sale systemsBackground in cannabis operations, pharmaceuticals, medical inventory, fine jewelry, luxury goods, or alcohol distributionFamiliarity with POS and inventory management softwareSkills That Matter HereExceptional attention to detail — mistakes are costly in this roleStrong organizational and time-management skillsClear written and verbal communicationAbility to follow SOPs precisely while adapting to daily operational needsTeam-oriented mindset with a high level of accountabilityCalm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced settingWhat This Role Is NotNot an entry-level positionNot a budtender or customer-only roleNot suitable for candidates without inventory or compliance experienceNot a casual or “learn as you go” positionThis role requires prior experience, precision, and ownership.What We OfferHealth, dental, and vision insuranceEmployee discountsConsistent full-time schedule (30–40 hours per week)Opportunity to grow within a leading Michigan cannabis companyA professional, accountable team environment that values accuracy and complianceWho You AreYou take pride in getting things right the first time. You work well with others, communicate clearly, and recognize that inventory integrity is critical to a successful cannabis operation.#Retail26 Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods during scheduled shifts.Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull inventory, boxes, and cannabis products weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance.Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach overhead while organizing inventory, conducting audits, stocking products, and maintaining storage areas.Comfortable performing repetitive inventory tasks, including counting, labeling, scanning, data entry, and product verification throughout the workday.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume retail and inventory environment with frequent movement and multitasking.Must possess the manual dexterity necessary to handle cannabis products, packaging materials, scanners, computers, and inventory systems accurately and safely.Ability to use inventory management software, METRC, point-of-sale systems, handheld scanners, and other operational equipment for extended periods.Capable of maintaining a high level of focus, accuracy, and attention to detail while managing audits, reconciliations, and compliance documentation.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with management, fulfillment teams, vendors, and staff regarding inventory discrepancies, operational needs, and compliance matters.Comfortable working in varying retail and stockroom conditions, including moderate noise levels, tight storage areas, and frequent movement between departments.Ability to maintain organization, cleanliness, and audit-ready inventory conditions at all times.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. $17.00 - $19.00 Hourly
