HVAC Lead Service Technician (Commercial)
Pay: $44.00 – $54.00 per hour
Brighton, MI and Surrounding Area
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Lead Service Technician to support and grow their commercial service operations. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on service work, with some installation and retrofit projects as needed.
Position Overview
The HVAC Lead Service Technician will handle day-to-day service calls while helping lead field operations. This individual should be a strong troubleshooter, comfortable working independently, and capable of guiding less experienced technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on commercial HVAC systems, including more complex service calls. Assist with installations, retrofits, and system startups while ensuring all work meets code and company standards. Serve as the main point of contact for customers in the field, clearly explaining issues, solutions, and preventative maintenance options. Help drive revenue through service recommendations and customer interaction. Train and support junior technicians, setting the standard for quality, safety, and professionalism. Remain flexible and willing to assist wherever needed, including service, install, or emergency calls.
Provide light administrative support including job documentation, service tickets, and timesheets. Assist with scheduling coordination, parts and inventory feedback, and continuous improvement of service processes. Support leadership in building out the service team by offering input on hiring, training, and equipment needs.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience . Strong background in installation and retrofit work. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Strong communication and customer service abilities. Proven ability to lead in the field and support team growth. Ability to balance hands-on work with some administrative responsibilities. EPA certification required.
